Link Health Monitoring for Satellite and Network Operations

How we would build link health monitoring for a satellite or network operator: one telemetry pipeline, anomaly detection and alerts with context.

Link telemetry monitoring and anomaly detection

Representative engagement. This describes how we would approach the work; it is not a delivered project and Algorythmos has no client in this sector yet. No figure on this page is a measured client result.

Challenge

A network or satellite operator runs thousands of links, and each one reports signal level, error rate, delay and weather exposure to a different system. Degradation shows up as a slow trend long before it becomes an outage, but nobody sees the trend because nobody sees the metrics together. The operations desk hears about a failing link when customers do.

Solution

The approach: bring link telemetry into one pipeline, learn what normal looks like for each link, and raise an alert when a link leaves that range, with the evidence attached. The models are simple on purpose. The value is in clean data, stated thresholds and an alert that an operator can act on without opening four other tools.

Approach

  1. 1

Discovery. We map the telemetry sources, the decisions the operations desk makes from them, and which failures cost the most.

  2. 2

One pipeline. Telemetry is validated on arrival, time-aligned and stored with its lineage, so every alert can be traced back to the readings behind it.

  3. 3

Detection. Per-link baselines flag anomalies and slow drift in error rate, delay and signal level, with weather and maintenance windows as context.

  4. 4

Proof before trust. The detector runs against recorded outages first, and its misses and false alarms are counted before any alert reaches the desk.
